I took Mira to her room to change her diaper Saturday and noticed I needed to refill the wipe warmer first, so I laid her in her crib to watch her mobile. She was cooing and making super-cute baby sounds so Abe came in to observe her in all her cuteness. I went ahead and started putting her laundry away and Abe turned her on her stomach to see how she would do (normally she HATES tummy time...like seriously HATES it). But this time she didn't fuss at all (miracle!). So this is how the conversation went:
Me: "Do babies normally roll from their back to their stomach first or their stomach to their back first?......I think it's stomach to back first".
Abe: "Well, let's see what she'll do."
I walked out of the room to get more laundry and when I came back Abe said, "She rolled half-way over and then stopped." We decided to try again and see what she would do so we put her on her stomach again. She rolled half-way and then the scene sounded like this:
Me: "Come on Mira, you can do it, roll over!"
Abe: "Come on Baby, you can do it!"
Me: "Come on Mira, good job baby!"
And then....
SHE ROLLED OVER...ALL BY HERSELF!!! Woo hoo!!!! Her first real baby trick! She is such a genious!!! Of course after she rolled over I went crazy telling her how amazing she is and being all excited and she was looking at us like, "what are you people acting so crazy for? I could have done this weeks ago." Go figure. And then being the genious parents we are we had to see if she would do it again and then she got upset. Enough tricks for one day mom and dad. But, just to be sure I knew it was for real, she rolled over twice for me today! What a good baby! Oh, the things we get excited about!
The serious stuff.
Ok, people, this is a serious conversation. I mean, serious. No more fun baby tricks... this is serious. I don't normally talk about such things on the blog, but it needs to be said because we need some prayers. So... we may or may not have some credit card debt (that means we do), and since I may or may not be working (that means I do a home study here and there, but haven't completed one since Mira was born), we may or may not have a very dwindling bank acount (that means we do). So, to make matters a little more complicated and stressful and frustrating in this already complicated stressful situation, Abe got a speeding ticket Friday night (apparently the speed limit in a construction zone is LOWER than the regular speed limit). Yep, pretty exciting. Oh, but wait... I'm not finished. Then yesterday as he was driving to tear down some sheds to make some extra cashola...drum roll please..... he got... into... an accident. Yep, that's right and (praise the Lord he is okay and so is the other person) it was his fault. Excellent. Perfect. Just what we needed right now. So, we may or may not be a liiiittle stressed right now (that means we are) and we may or may not need lots of prayers right now (that means we do).

Yay Mira on the rolling over!
And yuck on the cash flow. I will be praying for all that, and I can relate, seeing that student loans dwindle to nothing at this point in the semester...a little stressed myself. It doesn't help that the economy blows too...okay, enough of my upbeat attitude :-)
I'm glad Abe is okay! (and hopefully the insurance won't go up too much!)
Gina! Oh no! But oh yes for Mira!
Money problems are for the birds... Is Abe's car driveable?
Ugh! Well, not about the rolling over- that is glorious, but ugh about the tickets and accidents and such! That is no fun. At one point Eric got in something like, 4 accidents in a 2 week preiod- some where his fault, somehwere not. And then to top it off he ran over a squirell. That was a fantastic time! So I feel your pain and we will be saying a few prayers for you both!
P.S. We missed you guys last night!
Yeah for Mira!! That's awesome!
Yuck on the money stuff. It seems like when it rains, it pours. We'll be praying for you guys. Don't feel alone in it though. We & many others are right there with you. We'll make it & our little ones will be happy we sacrificed to get to spend time with them.
I'm glad everyone is okay!
Yay for the growing girl. And what proud parents!!!
About the other; Well, first of all you know I TOTALLY know about that stress. Jeff finally got a car after our car ordeal. You guys are totally added to the prayer list and let's start now...Father, I know in my head and read Your word that you ALWAYS provide for your children. Father, at times we need to feel that peace and knowledge in our hearts. I pray that you will fill Gina and Abe with your peace as they face this difficult time. Show them your plan for this situation and how you are going to work. Thanks Abba!
We love ya'll and call us if you think we can help (or if you just want to hang out).
