....I voted. And I'm proud of it. Not because it's my duty, but because it's my RIGHT. To vote in an election to help decide the next president of the United States. That is a great right. And I'm proud that I stood in the hour and a half long line to cast my ballot. I'm proud that an African American is the next president. I'm not saying I voted for him. I'm not saying I didn't. I'm just saying I'm excited that America has progressed enough that we can elect an African American to the greatest office on the planet. Welcome to 2008 America. I pray for Obama that I pray for any president, that he will be honest, truthful, and honorable, and that the Lord will lead him as he presides over our nation.
Happenings in our household:
My sweet little darling has learned to clap. I'm not sure how it happened, she just started clapping on Saturday and even knows to clap when we say to her, "Good job!" for something she's done. We aren't big clappers, so I refer back to my comment that she's a genious. Yes, a genious.
She is also enjoying cruising around the house holding on to things (as well as her speedy crawling) and often letting go to stand all by herself for several seconds (usually to take a bite of a snack her mommy is offering).
She, unfortunately, is still congested (did I mention this in a previous post??? I can't remember) and has been now for 4 weeks. Yikes. I took her in two weeks ago to rule out an ear infection and she was fine. However, I took her temperature today and she has a slight fever. I opted to wait to take her in to the doctor until tomorrow when our doctor is back in the office. That way I can also discuss with her directly Mira's weight gain and assess the need for a visit with a nutritionist (which we have scheduled for tomorrow night at 6:00).
We had a busy past weekend which consisted of hosting my sister-in-law, Anna's, bridal shower. It was quite fun (and funny) with some gifts received that you do not want me to explain on this blog (don't worry, they weren't from me). It was comical to see how embarrassed she became when she opened them. We also celebrated my other sister-in-law, Talitha's, birthday on Saturday evening. We had a great time eating some yummy food and I enjoyed watching my in-laws rock out playing Rock Band. Ever played? Yeah, I tried once and I'm terrible, so I just enjoy the show. I have some great pics from the party that I will post soon (I'm off to bed even though it's only 9:30. The time change has created for an earlier bedtime which also equals an earlier wake up time for our little bubbs (that's our new nickname for her)).
I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention something, but I'll hopefully post more soon...

What does bubbs mean? How did you adapt that nickname?
She is just growing up so fast. Hopefully she will get to feeling better soon.
Wow, what a big girl, standing all by herself! Mal is cruising around everywhere but won't even try to balance and stand alone. Dork. :)
Yes, I did use turkey for your spagetti! So you should just sneek it in there and Abe will never know. Unless, he reads this comment...and then it would be awkward...hi Abe. :)
