I forgot I was tagged by Natalie to post 12 random things about myself. So, here is my list (with some additions...so make sure to scroll down).
- Yesterday I turned 31. Thirty.One. It was a great day. Mira and I were able to stay in our toasty home and avoid the ice while the rest of the state got cold. I got a little gripey with my hubby around dinner-time, though. I guess I was tired and tired of being in the kitchen and the kitchen being a mess while I was trying to cook. So, my goal is to go an entire week without gripping, complaining, or telling my husband what to do. So far I haven't made it one day. So, I'm starting over...right now.
- Abe went to work today. He may be one of the few souls in Oklahoma who went to work even though he didn't have to. He and his carpool buddy went in together. I think he really just wanted to test out the 4 wheel drive on the Aviator. (Is this bullett complaining? Or griping? Hopefully not...okay, starting over...right now...).
- I'm starting to go stir crazy being stuck inside for day number two. Usually Mira and I at least take a jaunt to Target to look around. She at least had fun with me pushing her around on her new cutie pink plastic car she got for her birthday from cousins Elias, Corban, and Benjamin and Aunt Marisa and Uncle Titus. As I was pushing her I exclaimed, "beep, beep, get out of the way ,the princess is arriving!" She got a kick out of it.
- Our dog is pregnant and due any day. Any. Day.
- We are in the process of weaning. The doctor told me I had to. It was time. I probably would have put it off for a couple more months as she enjoyed falling asleep while nursing, but with the encouragement from the doctor that she wasn't getting enough calories that way, I knew it was time to stop. It has been WAY easier than I could ever have imagined. Mira is doing AMAZING with it. Last week we cut out the two daytime feedings before her naps. This morning we stopped the morning feeding and next week we'll stop the night feeding. She hasn't complained once, only pulled on my shirt a couple of times. She is seriously amazing. I could not have asked for it to go any smoother.
- Mira is officially napping in her crib instead of our bed. Glorious.
- Even. More. Glorious: Mira is sleeping through the night. She sometimes wakes at 5 a.m., but I'm hoping with the complete weaning that will stop. Hallelujah.
- This weekend we celebrate my birthday with my family. For dessert we're having some delicious cupcakes from the new rave Cuppies and Joe. Mmmmm, can't wait!
- I'm ready for another baby. But, no, we're not trying.
- Last night (as in Tuesday) we watched the movie Fireproof. You should watch it. It's really good.
- If you haven't read Josh and Amy's book From Ashes to Africa. You are missing out. It is REALLY REALLY REALLY good. Go and buy it RIGHT NOW.
- Sometimes weaning is painful....like right now.

Happy Belated Birthday! Enjoy your cupcakes--I went to Cuppies and Joe the last time I was in OKC, and it was really fun! It's owned by a family who goes to my home church, and they're great.
Yay for Mira sleeping through the night!
Wow. This "just so you know" was like a public service announcement - so fun yet so informative. I'm so happy to hear the great news about Mira. Maybe she's weaning so well as a birthday present to her favorite little momma in all the world... Oh, and happy birthday!
Did I already tell you happy birthday before now? If not, so sorry for the slip-up! Happy Birthday, dear! If I already told you, well...there's an extra greeting to sort-of keep the celebration going!
And I just went to Cuppies & Joe's website and I must say I am DEFINITELY going to have to make a stop there sometime! That Traveler brownie cuppie sounds DELISH!!!! Maybe you and I should make a date to go there together...no? :)
Happy birthday! Glad the weening is going so well and sleeping through the night? Yeah!!!!
I love all the updates. I can totally see where after a year or so I will get the itch and want another baby as well. Convincing Cody will be another story. We are still adjusting to parenthood and what our roles are. Yea for sleeping through the night! The only way could get Case to sleep through the night is by letting home sleep in his car seat. I know it isn’t ideal, but whatever it takes for mama to get a straight 8 hours. Happy Birthday again!
Thanks for the book shout out Gina! Hope your Cuppies are all they should be this weekend! :)
