3:00 a.m.

Mira has two "baby's blankets" she carries around with her "baby".  One of them is an actual blanket that we used when Mira was an infant, and one is an infant towel.  I'm not sure how she decided they were her babys blankets, but she's convinced they're designated specifically for her baby.  Last night as I was putting her to bed, I told her I needed to wash one of them and that it would be washed, dried, and ready for her in the morning.  Sounded like a great plan at the time...

...and then at 3:00 a.m. I was startled from glorious sleep to my screaming toddler.  At the top of her lungs as if she were hurt, "MOOOOOOOMMMMMMYYYYYYYYY".  I really had the worst thoughts going through my head in the point five seconds it took me to walk to her room.

When I arrived on the scene and asked what was wrong she kept saying "need a dry blanket".  In my 3:00 a.m. confusion all I could say was "what?".  "Need a dry blanket".  I felt her, her bed, and her blanket to see if she was wet.  All dry.  Finally I realized she wanted baby's blanket...that I had told her would be washed and DRIED for her in the morning.  "You need baby's blanket?"  "Mm hmmm".

Are you serious right now that you woke me up with curdling screams to get your baby's blanket from the dryer????  Never again, my child...never again!  I calmly told her that was not acceptable (after getting the blanket of course).  Then she said, "mommy I almost getting up?", which means, 'is it almost time to get up'?  Heck. No.  Luckily she went easily back to sleep.  Mommy, on the other hand, was awake for another hour.  Now I know why they say parents won't sleep for the next 18 years.

No how you feel! Benjamin did that 2 nights ago, but he was crying and screaming almost in the hallway. Still don't know why. But Titus in his sleep fogged brain, just scooped him up and brought him into bed with us...which ended up in me not getting any sleep because Benjamin kept reaching over to grab Darius' hand and hold and kiss it, but that would wake Darius up who was sleeping on my chest so that there was enough room for Benjamin to be in the bed...so it was a long night from 2:30 to 7. So glad he stayed asleep last night!

So very cute and not cute at the same time. After 18 I've heard you stay up all night worrying about them. It never ends!
