Thankful

Things I am thankful for this week: I (finally) had my first OB appointment yesterday.  I loved getting to see our little babe!  He/she was moving around on the screen putting on a show for mommy.  Hearing the heartbeat was priceless...and what made it even better was the conversation I had with Mira when she heard the heartbeat.  I hadn't mentioned much about having another baby, so her reaction was awesome:

Mira: Mommy, what's that?

Me: The baby's heartbeat.  There's another baby in mommy's tummy.

My doctor: Do you remember when your brother was in mommy's tummy?

Mira: [with sheer excitement] There's ANOTHER baby in your tummy to grow??

Me: Yes!

I laughed so hard!  I love, love, loved hearing Mira's excitement!!  During my appointment I was also thankful for my doctor and her nurse.  They all remember Mira since I took her to all my appointments with Isaiah, so Mira warmed right up to them.  The nurse was so excited to see me again and said, "I'm so excited, I love it when fun people come back!"  It totally made my day!  Then I had to visit the restroom, so the nurse stayed with the kids while I went.  Isaiah was none to happy with the situation and when I came out of the bathroom, my doctor was standing down the hall holding him.  I felt so thankful that they loved on my kids while we were there.

I was disappointmented when the doc said the baby measured 4 days behind what I know my due date to be (I chart my cycle, so I know my exact due date).  I was worried that meant something was wrong, but she said the baby looks perfect and the heartbeat was great, it's just measuring 9 weeks instead of 10.  She changed my due date from July 7th to July 13th, which is actually six days different.  She gave herself some leeway just to be sure.

I had a really hard time shaking my concern and worry as to why the baby would be measuring a week smaller.  But, I had to remind myself it actually only measured 4 days smaller, and I was thankful to remember at Mira's 20 week ultrasound she measured 4 days smaller as well.  So, I'm trusting in the Lord to protect and grow our sweet babe to a healthy sweet, full-term baby.

A picture of our wee one (turned sideways because I couldn't figure out how to turn it).

Hmmmm...Hadley's due date was July 13th, too. I'm just sayin'. How fun would that be for them to have the same b-day??

So glad everything went smoothly! Yay for more babies!

Oh...and if you know of anyone else who wants to possibly work on Thursday mornings, I need at LEAST 3 more girls!
