Ok, so a few posts ago I made a comment about "more interesting news to come". So, the news is that our house is on the market. We are moving to Hawaii!!!
Not really, but that would be SWEET! Ok, our house is only on the market because our good buddy, Lucas, is a realtor and he found a house that is bigger than our current home and had been forclosed on, so we could get it for a great deal less than what our house costs. We put in a bid and it was accepted! So, our offer was about $40,000 less than what we owe on our current house, but the "new" one is valued at at least $30,000 more than our current home. So, it was pretty much a no brainer that we might as well see if we could sell our house. If not, we will be a little disappointed, but not too much so because we really weren't planning to move anytime soon anyway. The perks of the "new" house (I put new in quotes because it's about 35 years older than our current home which was brand new when we bought it) are that it has an extra bedroom and sun room (which would make a sweet playroom), a much bigger backyard, and a pool. Oh yes, a pool, we are definitely excited about that! The downside: it's older, and it needs some work (new carpet, etc.). Nothing major, but definitely a few things done before we would move in. So, now we just wait to see if someone buys our home, which by the way is very cute and stylish if anyone is looking for a house in our area. Oh, the other thing is that we would be moving back towards the direction we lived before we bought our home (for those of you who remember where that was). It's not the city we want to end up in, but we figured we could live in the "new" home for a couple of years and then move a little farther north, where we would like to end up. So, that's our news...we'll see what happens. Our home is officially listed, we just need a sign in our yard. So, Lucas, get your hiney over here and bring us a sign! Oh, and just so you know, we have the BEST realtor EVER. He sold us our current home, and then we decided to become friends with him because he finally found himself a sweet girl to marry. Ok, that wasn't the reason, but since we've known Lucas he has gotten married, had sweet twin girls, and has another baby on the way. Whew! The boy has been busy in the last few years!

OMG! That is so exciting. I am sure you won't have any trouble selling your house. It's so well taken care of and in a great neighborhood. New projects are always fun.
Good luck with your house! Regarding my mom's recovery--she had knee replacement surgery last week. The surgery went "perfectly" (in the dr.'s terms), and she's now at home with a pretty long recovery ahead but she's doing well so far.
Okay, what's the city you want to end up in? Also, I think the other new old house sounds awesome! I'm all about having a pool. I'm just bummed I won't be able to come hang out ''poolside'.
How exciting! I have been thinking about this situation a lot lately and hoping that you would end up with Lucas and us in our addition - even though Abe doesn't like the name b/c of the H.S. rivalry thing...
