I went into labor about 4:00 AM on Friday morning. My mom came and got Mira around 9:00 and Abe and I headed to the hospital. Here's a pic of me in labor (between contractions, of course)
Everything was progressing well, and I was surprised when the nurse said I was dilated to an 8 because I didn't feel the contractions had become as painful as I remembered with Mira at the same point. An hour later, when I was still at an 8, I decided to let my doctor break my water to speed things up. She broke my water about 12:45 PM, which made labor progress to the point of me needing to push. I was surprised that between contractions I felt bored because with Mira the pain never let up, but with Isaiah I felt completely fine between contractions. With four big pushes, our little guy made his way into the world! The feeling of meeting your newborn for the first time is amazing! After growing him for nine months, it was such a sweet time to finally get to meet him. We've noticed already how laid back he is. Mira has adapted well to being a big sister and LOVES to kiss and pat her little brother. When I take off his blankets to feed him, she points and adamently says "wrap!" "wrap!" because she somehow knows babies need to be wrapped up. She is so sweet!!
Here are some pics Abe took with his phone at the hospital. When I have more time I'll post the "real" pics we took with an actual camera.

He is one of the most amazing people in the world. Congrats mama.
Leave it to Gigi to look like a supermodel between contractions. LOL! He's such a cutie!!
Absolutely Precious!!! So happy for you and Abe and Mira!
I'm so inspired by you! Beautiful and bored during contractions - with only 4 big pushes (I've always imagined hours of pushing - I guess that shows how much I know). Gigi the supermodel, for sure.
He is so precious. I LOVE his dark hair and how is sister is already taking care of him. I cannot wait to see more pictures.
So 4 a.m. was right?! Did you tell her?
