Mira started swimming lessons this week. They're Monday through Thursday morning for two weeks, and I have to be in the water with her. We started on Monday, and it was not the best first lesson. Day one started with sunscreen in her eyes, to which she was saying, "eyes burning!, eyes burning!". I wasn't quite sure what to do since this was our first lesson, and I had no towel to wipe her eyes (great planning, right?). I grabbed her shorts and dabbed her eyes which seemed to help. I think the eyes burning combined with a new environment/experience, I had to hold Isaiah, and she wanted to swim in the deep end made for a tricky experience. Luckily, my mom had the week off and offered to watch Isaiah Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The rest of the week was AWESOME and Mira had a super-fun time swimming. She loves to jump off the side (holding my hands, of course), and is getting more brave with getting her mouth in the water. She's learning to kick her feet and reach her hands out so as to not be holding on the me the whole time. Next week we'll be back to taking Isaiah with us to the lessons, so we'll see how that goes. I got him a raft with a canopy so hopefully he'll chill in the raft so that I can still help Mira swim and jump.
Mira's first french braid. She has decided she likes them.
We went to the Science Museum one day last week with some friends. Mira built this block tower and then stared down the boy next to her to make sure he wouldn't knock it over. Comedy. He actually knocked it over once and she about panicked. She re-built it and knocked it down herself. Good coping skill.

Love the french braid!!! And gotta love those great awkward moments!
Okay the stare down was priceless! Loved it. So is Mira actually learning to swim or just appreciate water? I might look into lessons next year. Keep us updated.
I am super impressed with the braid - both for the braider and that Mira sat cooperatively for that long! And her face to the boy near the blocks? HYSTERICAL. Don't these little lovelies make our lives so much richer?
Oh, and if that nurse was weird about the little poop nugget, she needs to get a new job. For reals, yo.
