Weekend

I put Isaiah in his high chair for the first time this weekend.  Previously he was sitting in the Bumbo to eat, but I'm totally over the Bumbo.  Isn't that thing supposed to teach them to sit up??  Isaiah ended up just leaning over the hump in the middle, which made it almost impossible to get a bite into his mouth.  So, I brought the high chair in from the garage (Mira hasn't used the high chair in about a year, she sits in a booster seat at the table.).  The high chair has encouraged Isaiah to balance more while sitting, which I'm thankful for, and it's been much easier to get a bite into his hungry mouth.  Believe me, this boy LOVES  to eat!!  I'm already noticing the difference between boys and girls when it comes to eating.  As of today, he can down three ice cube tray sized portions of baby food plus at least two tablespoons of cereal per day.  That seems like a lot for a baby who will be six months old tomorrow.  Right?

He wasn't quite sure what he thought of the high chair at first, but once eating commenced, he was happy as a clam!

Chillin'

Since Mira (and Isaiah's) birthdays are in January...thus, right after Christmas, I told my family if they wanted to wait to get Mira a birthday present until the summer, that would be totally cool.  I was glad they took me up on that offer since summer toy offerings are quite different than what's available in the winter months and we wouldn't have ended up with this super-cool gift.  My brother and sister-in-law got Mira this sweet sand box for her birthday.  It came last week and Mira loves it!  We filled it with water until we got sand, and she had fun breaking it in.

Then I discovered it had a road on the top for her to drive her cars on, and it became even cooler.  (No, she doesn't wear star clothes, they are jammies.  Yes, she was still in her jammies to play outside.  Don't judge.  Mmmm-k?)

I got her green sand, which she thinks is fun.  She calles it "Mira's green sand".

We had a fun fourth celebrating with Abe's family.  Abe's mom brought Bingo and everyone won a prize, which was cool.  We had a giant inflatable water park in the backyard which my nephews LOVED.  I'll try to upload video as soon as I figure out how to do that.

Mira got to try out the water park first.  She wasn't so sure about the giant slide since water splashed in her face, but she liked the little slide on the right hand side.  Less face splashing, but still fun.

Many different comments: High chairs have been used since the beginning of time for a reason. I can't believe how big Isaiah is getting! I happen to like the star jammies. Wow. That is like, the COOLEST water park play-thingy. :)

Isaiah looks so small in that high chair! So small but so cute. Between you and me, I think he eats more at 6 months than Case eats at 2 years. And who needs white water when you can have a water park in your own back yard. Those things are amazing!
