Good Times

It's the end of summer.  Which pretty much doesn't mean anything to us other than our clothing choices (you know, as it gets cooler outside, which is gloriously awesome).  Well, there is that tiny little "job" I did last year working at my friend's church in their nursery during Bible Study on Thursday mornings.  Mira was in the toddler room with a teacher she adored, and I got paid to take care of Isaiah in the infant room.  Pretty sweet gig.  I did it as a favor to my friend who needed more workers and ended up really enjoying myself.  I met a new friend who taught me about all kinds of hippy-ish things like shopping at the farmer's market.  I'm sad Tasha won't be working again this year, but I trust the Lord is leading her to make the best choice for her family.

And since the weather is getting cooler outside, we've taken advantage of some outside-ish things.  The kiddos and I took a last minute trip to the zoo on Friday.  Which is the day I officially joined the ranks of other moms who allow their daughters to wear a princess dress in a public place.  I figured there was no use to protest such an innocent request.  Choose your battles, you know?  So Mira wore her blue Cinderella princess dress and I was surprised at how many compliments she received!  One mom said she has two boys and would love to have a daughter to dress in a princess dress.  Too sweet.  I didn't capture the princess dress that day, but snapped a pic this morning of the pink princess dress (which she plans to wear to Aunt Marisa's birthday party later in the day. We'll see what daddy has to say about that!).

I was thankful I still had Mira's bathing suit with me from the day before when we "swam" at Gran's so Mira could play in the water without getting her dress wet.  She had a grand time splashing around and collecting rocks.  I love the new children's zoo area at the zoo!

I braved the ginormous consignment sale at the fairgrounds yesterday.  I didn't intend to snag myself a stroller, but when I saw they had the double stroller I've been wanting, and for a great price, AND it looks brand new, I knew I HAD to get it!  Mira was suuuuuper excited to get to ride alongside Isaiah.  Especially since she was booted out of the single stroller once he was born.  Here they are ready for our morning walk.

Last night we had some delicious grilled salmon at our friends "The Lucas's".  Abe and I coined that term before Lucas and Sarah were married since they didn't yet share the same last name.  We just can't keep ourselves from calling them that.  We met Lucas five years ago when he sold us our first home, and since then, he met Sarah, got hitched, had twin girls, had a baby boy, and then another baby boy, all within a period of 33 months.  WOW!
Here are Mira, Vedyr, Avery and Savannah trying out the wagon all at once.  They loved being crammed in there together!  Isaiah and Levi opted out of the crazyness.
