The Waiting Game

Don't you hate it when you're waiting for a phone call and it doesn't seem to come for DECADES? Especially when it's a phone call from your doctor? With some test results? Those seem to take the longest in all eternity.

My doctor is supposed to be calling my with blood test results since I ended up (I think) with hand-foot-and-mouth disease too. Apparently I have a mild case since I never had a fever, and my "spots" never turned into blisters. I guess it's entirely possible I had something else, but I'm guessing the chances are slim.

Of course the doctor said all kinds of scary things, like since I got it in my first trimester there is a greater risk of miscarriage...blah blah blah. I have to say, that doesn't put a pregnant girl at ease. But I know they have to warn me in case something out of the ordinary happens, I know to give them a ring right away. If only they would do some ringing on their end...today perhaps?

So, it's been an anxiety provoking couple of days. But, Mira and I distracted ourselves by taking a trip to the mall this morning. I had to return a pair of her shoes that I picked up to match her flower girl dress for my brother's wedding in July. In March I bought her two pairs since I knew trying to find off-white shoes in June would be impossible. Pat myself on the back for that one. I bought two sizes since I didn't know how much her foot would grow in four months. Pat myself on the back once again since she needs the bigger size. I love when I plan ahead.

So, upon our return, I found some things on sale that she "needed". No, really, she did. I found a great pair of shoes she'll be able to wear to the beach, in the water, etc. I had been searching all over for some in her size and finally scored a pair today. On sale, which is even better. I also found a cute pair of blue sandals to match a cute blue dress she has. Again, on sale, which rocks. And, I couldn't pass up the cute sunglasses for only $2. Do we remember how much the girl loves sunglasses? And, not to mention the fact that she has broken three pairs of mine she loves them so much. I know, I shouldn't keep giving them to her to play with, but when you just need two minutes to get something done, they are a great distraction. Now she has her own, and I will keep them in my purse for her playing enjoyment. Besides, hers are slightly cheaper than my Target version.
Here's the dress to match the new shoes. Look how proud she is to be drinking out of mommy's straw.
And the sunglasses...
I'm so excited to be going to lunch with daddy!!
Are you looking at me??
Daddy, where have you been all day??

Ring phone...R-I-N-G!

The sunglasses are divalicious. Looks like a successful shopping adventure. Ring phone, ring.

Oh, I hope you got a phone call before 5:00 yesterday; I'd hate for you to have to wait the entire weekend.
Those sunglasses are too cute, and I'm so impressed that she's wearing them so well.

Waiting is no good, especially for something like this. Mira is so cute trying to be a big girl with your straw.

Waiting is the worst for such important news. By the way, she is so your daughter with her love for accessories and pastels. She is so cutie! I hope she always keeps that beautiful platinum blonde hair color.

Okay, so I didn't read this until after I knew your results . . . so I was focused on the photos of Mira (good Gran that I am) . . . and, of course, I love every one, but that front-face sunglass photo is hysterical. That oh, so cute, oh, so little face with multi-colored striped sunglasses is just too much fun. When I started laughing Chelsea just couldn't imagine a photo greater then the ponytail photo today or the one "with attitude" holding her loveys by the patio door. Ahh, whatever was life like before Mira :)
