I thought I would ponder some Halloween memories on this fine Halloween day. I remember once we (my brother and I and our friends) were old enough to trick-or-treat on our own. We would go around our neighborhood collecting candy just like all the rest of the kids. Except we were a little greedy. You know those really nice people who couldn't be home on Halloween to hand out candy? And they were so nice they would put a basket of candy out on their porch with a sign that said "Please take one". Who are they kidding? My brother and I ganked the entire basket! Leave candy for someone else when we could have the whole thing? That's impossible! Ok, so yes, we were a little greedy. I would never do that now. What's funny is I was such a saver when I was younger that I wouldn't even eat my candy! I would "save" it for a whole year sometimes. What was I saving it for? A rainy day? Nope, had plenty of those along the way. Who knows, but I wish I had that much willpower now! I would end up throwing the whole bag of candy away because it would get gross! What a waste of stealing a whole basket of candy...
I'm planning to pick up some candy on my way home from work so I make sure I have some to hand out tonight. Yes, I am actually planning to pay for it, not steal it from someone's porch. I thought about painting my belly...to look like a pumpkin or something. I have to say the thought of that is quite hysterical. But, I'm not that brave. For one, I would have to walk around with my shirt pulled up, and for two it would itch like crazy! Nope, not that brave. Abe told me to make sure and get some Snickers because "that's the kids favorite". Yea right, that means it's HIS favorite and he wants to make sure he'll get to eat some. Nice try, honey. (Don't worry, I'll definitely get the Snickers, and probably some Twix...yum)
