25th Percentile

Mira had her 2 month check-up on Friday and she weighs 9 pounds 12 ounces. I was worried the doctor would come in and tell me she needed to have gained more weight, but instead she said, "she's doing GREAT on her weight!". "Really?" She said that Mira is now in the 25th percentile for weight as opposed to the 3rd percentile like she was at two weeks old. Yikes! I didn't even realize she had been in such a low percent!! I was grateful the doctor was impressed, especially since last week I decided to primarily nurse her as often as she wanted and not supplement unless we absolutely had to. Hooray for making more milk!! She's 22 inches long and also in the 25th percentile for length. I can't remember her head circumference but she's in the 50th percentile for that. Yep, she has a big brain and that means she's smart. Okay, so they didn't say that, but they did say that her head is growing and that means her brain is growing. Good thing.

Mira has discovered her hands and it's so cute to see her staring at them and catching her attention. She's also discovered that it's so fun to put them in her mouth. A couple of days ago she found her thumb and I was able to score a picture. Look how cute.
And here she is hanging out with daddy. The red mark on her chin is a cut she managed with her long fingernails. I always seem to cut them a little too late and she ends up cutting her sweet face. Oops! She's staring at the fan in this picture. It's one of her favorite toys.
