Hip Hip Hooray!!!

So, little miss Mira saw the neurologist today. We were so grateful they could get us in so soon. I was a little nervous, but knew we would be closer to getting some answers to our questions. We loved the neurologist! He was really laid back and not "doctor-e" in the sense of he was professional but didn't act like he was better than us or like he knew more than we did. And, he gave us great news! After gathering infromation about the "movements", and already knowing the EEG was normal, he said he felt certain she is not having seizures. Woo hoo! We took along the video of the "movements" and he watched the video while we were still there. After watching, he said even more that she is not having seizures or infantile spasims (which could be another neurological disorder). In fact, he said the words "she does not have a neurological disorder", which was music to our ears! He said he isn't sure what it is, but after watching the video made the comment that she clearly likes what we're feeding her, so he told us to keep doing what we're doing. He also made a comment to the effect of us being diligent parents and paying attention to her so we probably noticed something that a lot of parents wouldn't have even noticed. Which is funny, because my mom read a similar comment online from a grandmother whose grandson made similiar movements. The grandmother commented that her daughter was just very observant and so noticed the movements that a lot of parents wouldn't have noticed. Whew! We feel such a relief! I asked specifically if we need to watch Mira for anything and he said "no", that she's not at high risk for any neurological disorders since there is no family history of any. Ahhh. We are so grateful to God for protecting her and keeping her safe and healthy.
What a great anniversary gift! Yep, today happens to be mine and Abe's 4 year anniversary and we couldn't have asked for a better present! In celebration, we had lunch together (at Chipotle, our favorite fast-food restaurant!) and will probably go out to dinner sometime in the next week or so. Mmmm, Deep Fork Grill...I am looking forward to the yummy deliciousness already!
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us about this situation. We are so thankful for everyone who has been thinking of us.

I'm so glad to hear this good news even though it is just confirmation of what you already felt to be true in your hearts. And yes, you are very diligent parents, and the Lord has blessed Mira with your love and devotion.

Yeah!!!! I am so thankful!! This is such great news, I know it is a relief. I recently read a book where the author described our emotional tie to our children as "our own heart walking around in someone else's body". I thought that was so true. (Obviously Mira isn't walking yet). But the pain that comes along with thinking our child may be suffering or sick is unbearable. So glad you don't have to worry about this, friend! Love, SHERRY
