Some Progress

I had my weekly check-up with the good ol' doctor today. She said I'm dilated to a two, still 50% effaced, and the baby has moved down to about a zero station. I know most people don't know what half of that means, so let's just say there has been progress. Good thing, too, because Abe has been very antsy to know there is progress being made. I kept trying to warn him that there may not be any progress so he wouldn't be disappointed. I was excited to be able to report the good news. I also asked my doctor if she guesses weight. She felt my belly, actually pressed rather hard on either side of my belly, and her guess was 6 pounds. WHAT!?! Only six pounds??? I was actually rather surprised. I definitely expected bigger, but she said I don't want a huge baby. I guess that's true. Of course Mira will continue to gain weight over the next couple of weeks, so we'll see what she weighs when she's born. She recommended we buy some premie clothes (which several of my friends have recommended from experience) because usually babies around 7 pounds or less fit better in premie clothes for the first week. Maybe my good friends Lucas and Sarah would be willing to let us borrow some for about a week???
